The East Los Angeles College Latina Completion and Transfer Academy’s mission is to cultivate a holistic approach to self-efficacy through culturally relevant teaching and learning that empowers and supports Latina students and their families. This academy is funded by Equity and the goal is to increase Latina student’s success rate to transferring or obtaining a degree or certificate. If you are a Latina who has completed 30 units or more and who is interested in transferring and obtaining an AA degree or earning a certificate, then this academy is for you! LCTA offers an array of services to ensure students success such as coaching, leadership development, mentoring and tutoring. Students also participate in events that focus on culture, social justice, leadership and academic growth through civic engagement.
